Using $(1.0087\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.0044)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{10}\text{ }\text{ }J/\ensuremath{\psi}$ events collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we report the first search for the baryon and lepton number violating decays ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Xi}}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{e}^{+}$ with $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}(B\ensuremath{-}L)=0$ and ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Xi}}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ with $|\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}(B\ensuremath{-}L)|=2$, where $B$ ($L$) is the baryon (lepton) number. While no signal is observed, the upper limits …
