Search for baryon and lepton number violating decays of <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msup><mml:mi mathvariant="normal">Ξ</mml:mi><mml:mn>0</mml:mn></mml:msup></mml:math> hyperons
Using $(1.0087\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.0044)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{10}\text{ }\text{ }J/\ensuremath{\psi}$ events collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we report the first search for the baryon and lepton number violating decays ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Xi}}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{e}^{+}$ with $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}(B\ensuremath{-}L)=0$ and ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Xi}}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ with $|\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}(B\ensuremath{-}L)|=2$, where $B$ ($L$) is the baryon (lepton) number.
