Non-equilibrium steady state formation in 3+1 dimensions
We present the first holographic simulations of non-equilibrium steady state formation in strongly coupled \mathcal{N}=4 <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mrow><mml:mstyle mathvariant="script"><mml:mi>𝒩</mml:mi></mml:mstyle><mml:mo>=</mml:mo><mml:mn>4</mml:mn></mml:mrow></mml:math> SYM theory in 3+1 dimensions. We initially join together two thermal baths at different temperatures and chemical potentials and compare the subsequent evolution of the combined system to analytical solutions of …
