Ultralow Surface Resistance via Vacuum Heat Treatment of Superconducting Radio-Frequency Cavities

We report on an effort to improve the performance of superconducting radiofrequency cavities by using heat treatment in a temperature range sufficient to dissociate the natural surface oxide.
