Search for the rare decay<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mrow><mml:msup><mml:mrow><mml:mi>K</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mo>+</mml:mo></mml:mrow></mml:msup></mml:mrow><mml:mo>→</mml:mo><mml:mrow><mml:msup><mml:mrow><mml:mi>π</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mo>+</mml:mo></mml:mrow></mml:msup></mml:mrow><mml:mi>γ</mml:mi></mml:math>
We have performed a search for the angular-momentum forbidden decay K+→π+γ with the E787 detector at BNL. No events were observed in the π+ kinematic region around 227MeV/c.
