Recently, the oxygen-reconstructed tantalum surface $\mathrm{Ta}(001)\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{p}(3\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}3)\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{O}$ has experienced considerable attention due its use as a potential platform for studying spin chains on superconductors.
