Testing physics beyond the standard model through additional clock transitions in neutral ytterbium

We study the prospects of using transitions from the ytterbium ground state to metastable states $^{3}P_{2}^{\mathrm{o}}$ at $E=19\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}710.388\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}{\mathrm{cm}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ and $4{f}^{13}5d6{s}^{2}\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}(J=2)$ at $E=23\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}188.518\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}{\mathrm{cm}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ as clock transitions in an optical lattice clock. Having more than one clock transition in Yb could benefit the search for new physics beyond the Standard Model via …
