KCa was produced in a heat-pipe oven and its thermal emission spectrum around $8900\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}{\mathrm{cm}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ was recorded with a high-resolution Fourier-transform spectrometer.
