We have studied the color-suppressed hadronic decays of neutral B mesons into the final states ${D}^{(*)0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$. Using $9.67\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $B\overline{B}$ pairs collected with the CLEO detector, we observe the decays ${\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ and ${\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}^{*0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ with the branching fractions $B({\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0})\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}({2.74}_{\ensuremath{-}0.32}^{+0.36}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.55)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$ and $B({\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}^{*0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0})\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}({2.20}_{\ensuremath{-}0.52}^{+0.59}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.79)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$. The first error is statistical and the second systematic. The statistical …
