A two-neutron unbound excited state of $^{24}\mathrm{O}$ was populated through a ($d,{d}^{\ensuremath{'}}$) reaction at 83.4 MeV/nucleon. A state at $E=715\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}110\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}(\text{stat})\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}45\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}(\text{sys})\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}\mathrm{keV}$ with a width of $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Gamma}}<2$ MeV was observed above the two-neutron separation energy placing it at $7.65\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}0.2\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}\mathrm{MeV}$ with respect to the ground state.
