High statistics search for the<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msup><mml:mi>θ</mml:mi><mml:mo>+</mml:mo></mml:msup><mml:mo stretchy="false">(</mml:mo><mml:mn>1.54</mml:mn><mml:mo stretchy="false">)</mml:mo></mml:math>pentaquark state
We have searched for ${\ensuremath{\theta}}^{+}(1.54)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{0}p$ decays using data from the 1999 run of the HyperCP experiment at Fermilab. We see no evidence for a narrow peak in the ${K}_{S}^{0}p$ mass distribution near $1.54\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{G}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}/c$ among 106 000 ${K}_{S}^{0}p$ candidates, and obtain an upper limit for the fraction of ${\ensuremath{\theta}}^{+}(1.54)$ …
