Transition in Hypersonic Boundary Layers: Role of Dilatational Waves
Transition and turbulence production in a hypersonic boundary layer is investigated in the Mach 6 wind tunnel at Peking University, using Rayleigh-scattering visualization, fast-response pressure measurements, and particle image velocimetry.
