The dependencies on strain and oxygen vacancies of the ferroelectric polarization and the weak ferromagnetic magnetization in the multiferroic material bismuth ferrite, $\mathrm{Bi}\mathrm{Fe}{\mathrm{O}}_{3}$, are investigated using first principles density functional theory calculations.
