Quantum Dynamical Semigroups and Decoherence
We prove a version of the Jacobs‐de Leeuw‐Glicksberg splitting theorem for weak* continuous one‐parameter semigroups on dual Banach spaces. This result is applied to give sufficient conditions for a quantum dynamical semigroup to display decoherence.
