We experimentally explore the underlying pseudoclassical phase space structure of the quantum $\ensuremath{\delta}$-kicked accelerator. This was achieved by exposing a Bose-Einstein condensate to the spatially corrugated potential created by pulses of an off-resonant standing light wave.
