Jahn-Teller versus quantum effects in the spin-orbital material<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><mml:msub><mml:mi>LuVO</mml:mi><mml:mn>3</mml:mn></mml:msub></mml:math>
We report on combined neutron and resonant x-ray scattering results, identifying the nature of the spin-orbital ground state and magnetic excitations in ${\mathrm{LuVO}}_{3}$ as driven by the orbital parameter.
