The intermediate valence compound ${\mathrm{YbAl}}_{3}$ exhibits a broad magnetic excitation in the inelastic neutron scattering spectrum with characteristic energy ${E}_{1}\ensuremath{\approx}50\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{meV}$, equal to the Kondo energy (${T}_{K}\ensuremath{\sim}600--700\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{K}$).
