We determine wave number $q$ and frequency $\ensuremath{\omega}$ dependent spin Hall conductivities ${\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{yx}^{s}(q,\ensuremath{\omega})$ for a disordered two-dimensional electron system with Rashba spin-orbit interaction when $\mathbf{q}$ is transverse to the electric field.
