Experimental Determination of the Evolution of the Bjorken Integral at Low<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msup><mml:mi>Q</mml:mi><mml:mn>2</mml:mn></mml:msup></mml:math>
We extract the Bjorken integral ${\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{1}^{p\mathrm{\text{\ensuremath{-}}}n}$ in the range $0.17<{Q}^{2}<1.10\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{G}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}}^{2}$ from inclusive scattering of polarized electrons by polarized protons, deuterons, and $^{3}\mathrm{H}\mathrm{e}$, for the region in which the integral is dominated by nucleon resonances. These data bridge the domains of the hadronic and partonic descriptions of the nucleon. …
