We report the first observation of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decays $D^+ \rightarrow K^+ \eta^{(\prime)}$ using a 791 fb$^{-1}$ data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider.
