Muon spin relaxation experiments on the noncentrosymmetric intermetallic superconductor ${\mathrm{LaNiC}}_{2}$ are reported. We find that the onset of superconductivity coincides with the appearance of spontaneous magnetic fields, implying that in the superconducting state time-reversal symmetry is broken.
