We report on the crystal structure and magnetic behavior of the spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ compound AgVOAsO${}_{4}$. Magnetic susceptibility, high-field magnetization, and electron spin resonance measurements identify AgVOAsO${}_{4}$ as a gapped quantum magnet with a spin gap $\ensuremath{\Delta}\ensuremath{\simeq}13$ K and a saturation field ${\ensuremath{\mu}}_{0}{H}_{s}\ensuremath{\simeq}48.5$ T.
