We study the production of longitudinally polarized $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$ baryons in single-spin $p\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{p}$ collisions at BNL RHIC and DESY HERA- $\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{N}$ as a means of determining the spin-dependent $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$ fragmentation functions.
