Abstract

Dedicated to the memory of Lee A. Rubel (1928Rubel ( -1995) ) function f on such a region is said to be differentially algebraic (or DA, for short) if there is a nonzero polynomial P(Z, W, W',..., W(m)) in the vari- ables Z, W, W',..., W (m) over C such that P(z, f(z), f'(z),..., f(m)(z)) 0 for all z in the region.We then also say that f is a solution of the algebraic differential equation (ADE) P( z, w, w', w (m)) O.
