Florentin Smarandache (born in 1954) is a Romanian-American mathematician, writer, and poet. He is known for introducing several concepts in mathematics and philosophy, including:
• Neutrosophy: A framework that generalizes dialectics, focusing on the idea that every notion (or proposition) has degrees of truth, falsity, and indeterminacy that coexist.
• Neutrosophic Logic and Set Theory: Extensions of classical logic and set theory to accommodate indeterminacy alongside truth and falsity.
• Various sequences and problems in number theory sometimes referred to by his name (e.g., “Smarandache sequences”).
He has authored a number of books and papers on these topics. Smarandache has also been involved in literary work as a poet and essayist.
